This has a very pretty nose of strawberries, white pepper, poached pears, black tea and curls of kelp. The phenolics are a touch bitter through the back palate—akin to almond skin—which could be a feature of the cool season that birthed it. There is blackberry and pink peppercorn and all manner of attractive red and pink things in here, but there is no getting away from the lovely phenolics that course through this wine.
